Vote Steve Christopher for county council – district 1

Press Release

WHITE COUNTY, IN – Incumbent White County Councilman Steve Christopher has officially announced his candidacy for re-election to represent Council District 1, which spans Big Creek, Prairie 1, Prairie 2, Princeton, Round Grove and West Point Townships. A fourth-generation resident of the community who is actively raising his family’s fifth generation locally, Christopher brings decades of agricultural, business and public service experience back to the table.

Since taking office in 2023, Christopher has established a reputation as a transparent, fiscally disciplined guardian of county taxpayers. His tenure has been marked by strong, common-sense initiatives, including tightening county-wide departmental budgets in 2025, holding the line against local tax increases and implementing the county’s Tax Abatement Scoring Rubric to ensure total transparency for corporate development.

“Our district is the agricultural backbone of White County,” Christopher stated. “My vision is clear: we must pursue traditional, sustainable economic development without sacrificing our prime farmland to outside green energy developers, massive solar arrays or unvetted data centers. I believe in working above board, listening to our local law enforcement and county workers, and protecting our way of life.”

Christopher’s deep roots include over 20 years owning and operating Christopher Brother’s Farms, a local livestock and trucking operation, followed by two decades serving regional families in medical device sales and service. He also served for 12 years on the Frontier School Board, championing community voices and fiscal transparency.

The Christopher campaign will focus on heavy grassroots engagement across all six agricultural townships, emphasizing farmland protection, public safety infrastructure and keeping the county budget lean and accountable.
